ABS-CBN Corp. announced on Tuesday the appointment of Aldrin M. Cerrado as the new chief operating officer of ABS-CBN Global Ltd.
Mr. Cerrado replaced Olivia G. de Jesus who retired on Jan. 31, the listed media company told the local bourse in a disclosure on Feb. 1.
As head of ABS-CBN Global, Mr. Cerrado is expected to “provide the vision and leadership in steering and growing the business in a highly challenging global economic environment and in fast-evolving regional Filipino markets overseas,” ABS-CBN said in an e-mailed statement on Wednesday.
ABS-CBN-Global oversees the media company’s international subsidiaries.
Mr. Cerrado will also manage the media company’s global flagship brand, The Filipino Channel (TFC).
“Prior to this appointment, Mr. Cerrado served as chief financial officer (CFO) and chief compliance officer of ABS-CBN Corp. and was immediate past CFO of ABS-CBN Global,” the listed company said.
Mr. Cerrado, a certified public accountant with about 30 years of experience, was a partner at Sycip Gorres Velayo & Company prior to joining the media company in 2012. — Arjay L. Balinbin
